Marten Stromberg is the Curator of Rare Books for the Rare Book & Manuscript Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his B.A. in Philosophy and M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois. Marten is interested in public outreach for all ages and interests. He works with Scott Schwartz, the Head of the Sousa Archives and Center for American Music, to develop educational music programs for kids that they perform in the schools. His recent exhibit about the alphabet A to Z to ! :An Alphabetical Exhibit of Alphabets and Writing, includes a catalog written for young readers that educates them about the history of the Latin alphabet and writing.
Marten is also interested in the digital humanities, especially in relation to rare book studies and new methods of scholarly communication and collaboration. He is a founding member and the current editor of Non Solus.
